(Macao, Oct. 30, 2017) – The Venetian® Macao has been awarded the Best Entertainment Resort – Asia Pacific 2017  at the third annual Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards that were held in Singapore recently.

The awards honour and reward enterprises in South-east Asia for excellence within the travel industry. With 46 awards across 10 categories including airlines, hotels, resorts, serviced residences, cruises, travel technology, travel agents, tourism experiences, car rental and destination marketing companies, winners are voted for by Travel Weekly Asia’s readers, a group made up of professionals from different spectrums within the travel industry.

Sands Resorts Macao, including The Venetian Macao strives to help firmly establish Macao as Asia’s top entertainment destination and as such we will continue to host world renowned events and the biggest names in entertainment in the fields of music, sport, Broadway theatrical shows and award events. Over the coming months we will present  the Parisian cabaret show Crazy Horse, the London West End show Sound of Music and in early 2018 we will also host performer Bruno Mars in concert. This industry award is even more worthy since it is the readers of Travel Weekly Asia who cast their vote, which is confirmation that we are on track to achieve this ambition,” said Mark McWhinnie, Senior Vice President of Resort Operations & Development, Sands China Ltd

“This year we continue to honour organisations that have distinguished themselves by rising above the competition to attain new heights. It is our wish that travel companies will be inspired by these wins and strive for quality, creativity and excellence in their businesses,” said Irene Chua, Group Publisher, Travel Weekly Asia.
